STUDIO NEWS
It's no longer a rumor, it is true.
We're putting the final touches on a new studio in Los
Angeles. We haven't been totally without a studio
since we left L.A. We had the Emeryville dream loft
until just a few months ago. The problem was that
the Emeryville studio was in Emeryville.
Well the wait is over. We've
teamed up with Roger Miyakawa of Miyakawa Photography to
bring you a great studio in Los Angeles. It is
located in Los Feliz. Plus we are equipping the
studio with a lot of the great features you remember from
the old location, except we think we've learned to do ti
better this time.
We're just completing the finishing
touches on the cyclorama. We've made it bigger this
time. We also installed it right in front of the
roll-up door. We can now bring in a full-sized car
or truck and shoot it with full studio lighting.
While we still have some final planning
to do, we're putting in both a living room set and a
bedroom set. We are looking for furniture now.
I still have the four post bed but we're committed to
doing something new and fresh instead.
One of the big complaints we had with
the old studio was the shortage of muslin drops. We
own thirty of them, but from a practical standpoint, we
could only bring up one at a time. Now, at the Bash,
we'll have two blacks and a color up and available at all
times! In fact, the cyclorama is big enough for two
models to shoot at once.
Once we get up and running, our next
project will be to build new wet sets. We've already
located a claw foot tub and a really interesting shower
enclosure. We'll also be brining over the tanning
bed which always made for unique shots.
The new building is a bit older but it
has a much nicer, square box, open layout. We also
have a fenced in front yard where we'll be able to do
outdoor nudes as soon as the weather breaks.
We'll be re-opening the So. Cal.
offices in the spring but they won't be co-located with
the studio.
Our plans for the year are to locate a
partner studio up here in the Bay area so we can have
studios in both locations. Ultimately we'd like to
have a studio to work with in both Chicago and South
Florida.
So. Cal. Pro. Models is on the move
again. It's going to be fun. We're glad you'll
be there to join us! |
