Questions
Q: How long are the shoots?
A: The group portion of the
shoot runs from 12:00PM until 3:00PM. From 3:00PM until 5:00PM,
the models are available to be booked individually if you'd like.
The start time has been moved later to make time for the open house!
A: We are now enforcing a limit
of twenty-five photographers. If more than fifteen photographers
sign up, we will add more models.
Q: I don't want to book a model
for a separate shoot, can I still come?
A: Of course. Hiring the
models for one on one shoots is optional and entirely up to you.
Q: How do I book a model for
a private shoot if I want to?
A: A model can be scheduled at
the time you make your reservation, when you sign in or at any time
during the shoot. Of course, it is first come, first served.
If you would like to book one of our models that are not attending the
event, please notify us as soon as possible before the
event. We will check to see if she is available, and if so, we'll
arrange for her to come in. Remember, we are managers not agents.
Your agreement will be directly with the model which means you will be
expected to pay them in cash at the time of the shoot.
Q: What does the studio look
like?
A: If you are unfamiliar with
the studio, click here and
you can get a look at the facilities and many of the sets. Please
note that this is a professional studio located in a commercial
building. All the sets you see are assembled and ready for use at
all times. The studio is not in a house.
Q: Which sets will be used?
A: That is entirely up to the
group. We currently have twenty-three standing sets and more are under
development. You are free to shoot wherever you'd like.
We'll move and reset the lights to accommodate you. For your
convenience, we divide the studio into four zones, providing lights in
each section. That makes it easy to relocate lights quickly,
anywhere within that area.
Q: Does that include the wet
sets?
A: Of course, you are free to
use the shower, tub, kiddie pool and sink. All we ask is that you
wait towards the end if the model is to get wet so she is able to shoot
on the other sets first. We have installed a new jacuzzi since
this summer and that will be available to shoot..
Q: What kind of lighting will
you have?
A: We will provide eight to ten variable
power mono lights set up in pairs. You will need a sync cord with
a standard household plug on the end of it. If you are confused
about what the cord is, explain to your camera store that you want a
sync cable that is Novatron 400 compatible. We'll move the lights, as needed from set to set for you.
Q: Are there any sets that work
with available light?
A: Some of our wet sets are directly
under a sky light and we have had dramatic results there with available
light. Also, there is a roll-up door with a privacy wall that can
be opened to provide available light to other sections of the studio.
Q: Can I use a video camera at
the shoot?
A: Sorry, this is a no vide
event..
Q: Can I bring a large format
camera or large tripod?
A: Due to the size of the crowd
at the Glamour Bash, large format cameras such as 4x5's are
inappropriate. There is also no room for large tripods.
Monopods, however are more than welcome and can be helpful. Small
tripods that are easily moved work well also. Medium format
cameras are permitted at all our events.
Q: Can I bring my own lights?
A: You are welcome to bring your
own lights, but they may only be used during the individual booking
portion after the group shoot unless other arrangements are made.
In most cases, if you want to bring lights that may be used and shared
by everyone at the event, we will allow it on the proviso that we will
not be responsible for damage or overheating.
Q: Why is the shoot so reasonably
priced?
A: We are not promoters, we are
model managers. Our purpose is to familiarize you with the models
and to get the models in front of the camera. We don't want to,
nor do we intend to, compete directly with the many quality promoters
who put on photo days regularly.
Q: Can I set up my own group and
bring them into the studio?
A: The studio is for rent.
We'll rent it to individuals, to groups or to other promoters. If
you set up a group from two to twenty-five photographers, we'll be happy
to arrange for your own private event.
Q: Are releases provided?
A: This is a no release event.
However, releases are available from
the models, in most cases, for an additional charge. Bear in mind
that limits and usage may effect whether a model will sign a release.
Generally speaking, a release is included if you book a model for a
private shoot after the group portion is over.
Q: What will the shooting limits
be for the models?
A: This is a fashion shoot so
the models will be doing commercial fashion, formal fashion and/or
swimsuit..
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Please call the office at
(714) 484-2722 and we'll make all the arrangements. If you want to
pay the pre-registration price of $35, full payment must be received by
5:00PM and the day preceding the event. Otherwise the price will
be $60 at the door. A reservation without pre-payment will hold
your rate but not guarantee that you will have a space. If we sell
out, pre-payments will take precedence over unpaid reservations.
Moreover, if you make a reservation that is not pre-paid and fail to
cancel it at least one day in advance, you will only be admitted to
future events on a walk-in basis or if pre-payment is made at the
walk-in rate. Walk-ins are also welcome if space permits,
however, these events do often sell out.
Q: What forms of payment do you
accept?
A: We are very flexible as to
payment type. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.
Visa and MasterCard are welcome here in the studio. We also accept personal checks in the
studio with proper identification. Credit cards may be used to
book models for individual shoots after the group portion is over.
Q: What is your cancellation
policy?
A: You may cancel, with a full
refund, up to three days before the event. Thereafter, there are
no refunds or credits.
Q: Are your models featured at
any other events?
A: Check our out Calendar of
Events by clicking here to see their
currently scheduled appearances.
Q: Where is the studio located
and how else can we contact you?
A: Click
Here and you will reach our main contact page. On the contact
page you will have access to a link that will provide you with exact
directions to the studio.
A: We will always have excellent
models available and the models listed have already committed, however
unexpected circumstances may require us to substitute talent. Watch
our site and we will try to keep you up to date on who will ultimately
attend.
